Prohibition Party

There’s some evidence of the Prohibition Party being active in Newaygo County.  I found a Call to their County Convention in the Newaygo Tribune that included their chair’s name, indicating that they were organized in the county.

Many prominent Nationals, including the editor of the Tribune, and Republicans were in favor of Prohibition.  It’s a little less clear for the Democrats simply because I haven’t found as many detailed accounts of their Conventions.
