Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners (called Supervisors in the beginning) was first established in Newaygo County in 1968.  Prior to that year the Supervisors of each township met as the Board of Supervisors to conduct county business.

The first apportionment plan created seven districts.  Subsequent apportionments have ranged between five (1980) and eight (1970).  The next apportionment will occur after the 2010 census is completed.

Check the following links for more information on the Newaygo County Board of Commissioners.

Boundaries – Maps of the district boundaries since 1968.  Note that the city boundaries (for sure) and possibly some township boundaries do not reflect the borders as they appeared in the past.  I only had present-day borders to work with.

List of Elected County Commissioners – Contains a full list of all elected or appointed County Commissioners.
